1: Taking a picture
HOW TO PREPARE FOR IMAGE TAKING?
PROBLEM 1: RECAPTURE ALERT. HOW TO PREPARE FOR IMAGE TAKING?
Tip 1 – Remove the cover: Please remove the cover from your device.
Tip 2 – Set the mirror’s position: Please check the mirror’s position. It should be vertical.
Tip 3 – Standing position: Please stand in front of the mirror at a distance of about 1m. Extend your arm to the mirror and step one foot length back.
Hold the phone comfortably, so that the front camera can set your face within the frame. Please make sure that your image in the mirror is not covered by your device.
2: MERGING THE CIRCLES
HOW SHOULD I TAKE THE IMAGE AND MERGE THE CIRCLES?
Problem 2: I cannot merge the circles well
Tip – Move device SLOWLY: Move the phone up and down slowly to move the (red) circle up and down while your face is visible on the live stream, and tilt the phone back and forth to change the size of the dashed circle. When the countdown starts, stay still and wait for the two sounds of image taking, while looking into your own eyes in the mirror.
3: ADJUSTING THE DEVICE OUTLINE
HOW TO MATCH THE RED COLORED DEVICE FIGURE TO FIT ON THE IMAGE OF THE DEVICE?
Problem 3: I cannot set the red colored device.
This process is very important to measure your PD accurately.
Tip 1 – Remove the cover: Did you remove the cover from your device before you took a photo? If not, please recapture after you remove the cover.
Tip 2 – Manual adjustment:Please check whether the Auto Adjust icon is turned off.
4: ADJUSTING PUPIL INDICATORS
HOW CAN I CHANGE THE POSITION OF THE DETECTED PUPILS MANUALLY?
Problem 4: I cannot detect pupils well.
I want to change the position of the pupillary marks manually.
Tip 1 – Turn off Auto Adjust icon ‘A’: Please make sure that the Auto Adjust function is turned off. Icon ‘A’ color should be gray.
Now, you can reset the position of the pupillary mark manually.
If the icon ‘A’ turns green, the Auto Adjust function is turned on.
By touching the screen you can zoom in and modify the position of the pupillary marks.
Tip 2 – Use Lock icon: Using the lock icon you can fix your latest position. Touching the screen does not have an effect if the lock is green. By pressing icon ‘A’ the app tries to search the pupils in the neighborhood of the latest position. Turning on icon ‘G’ provides you with a guideline on the bottom picture (made by the rear camera). When it is enabled you can move the pupil circles on the bottom picture only vertically along this guideline.
5: MEASURING HALF-PD
HOW TO ADJUST THE HALF-PD MARKER FOR BEST RESULTS?
Problem 5: How do I measure my half-PD?
Tip 1 – Set the nosepad accurately: In the middle of your nose between your eyes, where the center of the glass bridge would be on the top image. Turn on the guideline (icon “G” should be green). Find the very same point on the bottom image. In this case, you can only move the nosepad (and the pupils) on a line.
Tip 2 – Use Lock key: Set the pupillary mark manually with the Lock key. When you set the pupillary mark on your pupil, press the lock icon before you remove the pupillary mark. In this case, your setting will not be changed. As your device might be very sensitive to small movements, you can inadvertently move the pupillary mark may when you remove your finger from the screen.
6: UNRELIABLE MEASUREMENT
NO PD VALUE IS DISPLAYED!
Problem 6: I do not get a PD result.
The problem occurred because the user moved while taking the photo.
Tip 1 – Recapture: Please recapture.
Tip 2 – Check standing position: Please check your standing position and the mirror’s position before you recapture.
You should stand in front of the mirror at a distance of about 1m. Extend your arm to the mirror and step one foot-length back.
Tip 3 – Lighting conditions: You may need to find a place with better lighting conditions. Taking photos in a very dark room or at a too bright place under a spotlight may result in wrong measurement caused e.g. by poor lighting conditions. In this case, the application may not be able to measure your PD reliably.
Tip 4 – Device adjustment: We suggest that you check if the red colored device figure is
matched accurately to the image, and if pupil detection is accurate. If the problem does not
get solved, please recapture.
Tip 5 – Take off your glasses: If you have strong corrective lens, you may need to take off your
glasses. The lens may prevent you from getting an accurate result.
